Emergency situation casued by over flow of Zilzal Jheel

In Muzaffarabad district of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, the Zalzala Lake has over flowed due to which 30 houses got washed away with the force of the water from breaking of natural dam created during the October 2005 earthquake. In addition to that 58 households in Hattian Bala were in the path of the water, which damaged furnisher, beddings etc . One bridge has been damaged as well as one Mudrassa. The road to Hattian Bala is affected by landslides at many places. No casualities are reported yet. The immediate need is of tents, blankets & food. To respond to this emergency, two teams from Sungi Office in Ghari Dopatta,  reached in first few hours and gave initial assessment. Another team moved from Sungi Head Office in Abbottabad including Emergency Response Team members along with first aid expert (equipped with emergency response health kit) is on its way. They have with them 40 tents and 60 blankets for immediate distribution among the most vulnerable. Further response would be made as per need assessment.
