For the past three decades, Sungi Development Foundation has worked at the national level in collaboration with public and private organizations to advocate for the rights of home-based women workers and artisans. The foundation aims to enhance livelihood opportunities, improve household incomes, empower women, and strengthen partnerships at local, national, and international levels.
Sungi has earned remarkable success and appreciation for promoting crafts and creating livelihoods for women through its initiatives.
As part of these efforts, the foundation organized a three-day stall in Nathia Gali, Galiyat, during an exhibition hosted by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for skilled artisans and home-based workers.
The stalls were arranged in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Department of Haripur.
The aim was to promote and showcase the talents and handcrafted products of artisans trained by Sungi, enabling them to reach a wider audience and generate income. This partnership not only benefits the artisans but also contributes to the local economy and cultural preservation. It is a commendable effort towards empowering grassroots talent and fostering sustainable development in the region.
During the exhibition, many visitors, including the Additional Deputy Commissioner for Relief and Human Rights, visited the Sungi stalls and appreciated the foundation’s work in enterprise development.
