A Comprehensive Overview of Aawaz II Program Implementation in District Sheikhupura!

The joint visit of representatives’ significant milestone in the collaborative efforts to enhance community engagement and inclusivity in District Sheikhupura. A joint delegation comprising representatives from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), IFORM-OPML, and the British Council convened for a comprehensive visit. The delegation’s primary focus was to meet with the Sungi Development Foundation’s (SDF) management and the Aawaz II project team, assessing the ongoing progress of the Aawaz II program in the district.

The day commenced with a detailed meeting between the delegation and SDF’s management, delving into the intricacies of Aawaz II program implementation in District Sheikhupura. The discussion centred on project updates, challenges faced, and the strategies employed to overcome them.

The delegation actively engaged with representatives of Aawaz II Village/District Forums, AAC Resource Persons, and Aawaz II Change Agents. This interactive session provided a platform for these crucial stakeholders to share insights and experiences.

A key element of the visit was the interaction with Aawaz II forum members who passionately shared their experiences. These forum members highlighted the pivotal role played by District Forums/Village Forums (DF/VFs) during the project’s implementation. Their narratives underscored how DF/VFs effectively contributed to strengthening the program’s footprint at the community level.

A crucial aspect of the program’s success emerged through the meaningful inclusion of vulnerable populations, including women, minorities, transgender individuals, and persons with disabilities (PWDs). Aawaz II has demonstrated a commitment to behaviour change interventions, development inclusivity, and promoting citizen-state engagement.
