Sungi Development Foundation being active member of different Government notified committees at district level working actively for addressing Human rights issues at local and provincial level. District Vigilance Committee (DVC) is one of them, which is mandated to check human trafficking, child and bonded labor at district level. Since from the formation of this very important committee numbers of steps were being taken to prevent and eliminate child Labour, professional bagging, bonded labour and human trafficking. In the continuation of these efforts on 10/5/2023
Social Welfare Department and Sungi Development Foundation jointly organized a session on trafficking in persons, child labour and bonded labour in light of the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act 2018.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Prohibition of Employment of Children Act 2015, and other relevant rules and laws for Hattar Industrialists Association (HIA) in their office,
Deputy Commissioner Human and Relief Mr. Muhammad Abid from district administration, Deputy Director Labour Mr. Faiz Ullah and Additional Deputy Director labour Tariq Zaman, District Social Welfare officer Ms. Sana Iqbal form Social Welfare, Special Education and Women Empowerment Department Haripur, President Mr. Malik Ashiq Awan from Hattar Industrial Association Hattar, Mr. Babar Mehmood Program Coordinator From Sungi Development Foundation and around fifty industrialist from Hattar Industries estate Haripur graced the session with their presence.
Other participants included office-bearers of HIA, representatives of management of various industries, media and employees.
The Purpose of awareness session was to aware industrialist regarding child Labour, bonded Labour and Trafficking in Person. Deputy Director Labour gives brief audience, during the presentation he discussed about the child root causes, consequences and effects of child Labour.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Relief and Human address the session and said that district administration is always ready to support to the industrial at all levels and same persistent and support are required from industrials to elimination of Child Labour.
Ms. Sana Iqbal from social welfare department said that if there is any victim of the Subjected Issues Social welfare will facilitate them through their “Zamung Kor” Setup. During the session Representative of Sungi Development Foundation commit to extend the Support regarding awareness in Future.
