Job Title: Field Officer for community mobilization, community coordination and capacity building for Climate Change Resilience through rehabilitation/reconstruction of green infrastructure in flood-affected areas Torghar.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Field Officer to support our organization’s efforts in building climate change resilience through the rehabilitation and reconstruction of green infrastructure in flood-affected areas. The Field Officer will be responsible for facilitating community mobilization, coordinating with local stakeholders, and conducting capacity-building activities to enhance resilience within target communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Mobilization: Act as a liaison between the organization and local communities, engaging community members in project activities and fostering active participation in resilience-building initiatives.
  • Community Coordination: Establish and maintain effective communication channels with community leaders, local authorities, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment of project activities with community needs and priorities.
  • Capacity Building: Develop and implement training programs, workshops, and awareness campaigns to enhance the capacity of community members in disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, and sustainable green infrastructure practices.
  • Needs Assessment: Conduct assessments to identify the specific needs, vulnerabilities, and strengths of target communities in relation to climate change resilience and green infrastructure development.
  • Project Implementation: Support the implementation of project activities related to the rehabilitation and reconstruction of green infrastructure, ensuring compliance with project timelines, quality standards, and budgetary requirements.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Provide support to monitor progress, gather feedback, and evaluate the effectiveness of community mobilization and capacity-building efforts, identifying successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of community engagement activities, meetings, and training sessions, and prepare timely reports for project management and donor reporting purposes.
  • Networking and Advocacy: Represent the organization in relevant forums, meetings, and events at the community level, advocating for the integration of climate change resilience and green infrastructure considerations into local development plans and policies.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks and challenges associated with community mobilization and capacity-building activities, and support to develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure the safety and security of project participants.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate knowledge sharing and learning exchanges among project stakeholders, promoting cross-learning and best practices in climate change resilience and green infrastructure development.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in community mobilization, capacity building, or related fields, preferably in the context of climate change resilience or disaster risk reduction.
  • Strong understanding of community dynamics, participatory approaches, and social mobilization techniques.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and tools, including monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ability to work independently in remote and challenging environments, with a strong commitment to community empowerment and sustainable development.
  • Fluency in local languages spoken in flood-affected areas is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of gender-sensitive approaches and inclusion principles is an asset.

Job Summary:

The Program Coordinator for the Climate Change Resilience project provides, administrative, research, project management, and other general assistance to program staff working toward achieving protection, conservation, or stewardship goals. The coordinator may manage conservation data, participate in conservation planning, develop project packages, and maintain project records. The coordinator will be responsible for the following:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate and track multiple project plans and workstreams across teams, and track status via project management software.
  2. Development of documents, presentations, and other materials, and coordination of events and consultancies with external partners.
  3. Oversee document management systems that all Africa Climate strategy team members can access.
  4. Circulating and following up on the review of technical reports by the program team and technical leads.
  5. Facilitate collection of numerical data and disseminate among teams for analysis and synthesis.
  6. Coordination of internal meetings and tracking of agreed actions and tasks.
  7. Attend Management Team Meetings and Steering Committee Meetings, draft minutes, and action points, and follow up the implementation of these over time.
  8. Financial administration and budget tracking, including procurement procedures.
  9. Review partners contracts and expedite processing and payments for sub-grants and sub-partners.
  10. Plan and support trips of TNC staff and external partners.
  11. Support logistics of a range of stakeholder meetings and workshops as needed.
  12. Under minimal supervision, makes independent decisions based on analysis, experience, and context.
  13. Demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in natural resource management, ecology, agricultural economics, forestry, environmental science, law, or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience. They should also have experience managing staff or volunteers, demonstrated experience in relationship building experience to work closely with a variety of partners and stakeholders, experience coordinating multiple programs and projects in multiple locations, experience coordinating and managing multiple priorities, with assignments sometimes coming from several sources and work independently, experience completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s), experience using common software applications such as Word, Excel, web browsers, etc., experience coordinating multiple projects, experience handling standard business communications via written, spoken and graphical means in English and other relevant languages and experience with report writing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to mitigate the impacts of climate change, promoting sustainable practices, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Climate Change Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive climate change strategy aligned with organizational goals and global best practices.
  2. Sustainability Initiatives: Lead the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives, such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, and waste reduction programs.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and industry partners, to advance climate change initiatives.

Requirements:

– Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Climate Change, Sustainability, or a related field

– At least 8 years of experience in climate change, sustainability, or environmental management

– Proven track record of developing and implementing successful climate change initiatives

– Strong knowledge of climate change science, policy, and regulations

– Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience with carbon footprint analysis, GHG reporting, and sustainability reporting

– Familiarity with international climate change frameworks and standards (e.g., Paris Agreement, SDGs)

– Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and industry partners.

Position Title: Deputy Manager Finance and Accounts(Only Female)
Nature of Contract: Full Time
Allocated Time: 40 hrs a week

Position Report to: Director Finance

Profile Summary

The position aims to ensure that all Accounts and Finance related activities at the Head office are completed accurately and in a timely manner as per the Sungi Policies. Deputy Manager Finance acts as a look after all accounting and finance activities at GL level and assists the Director Finance in achieving the departmental objectives.

Tasks & Deliverables

Finance & Accounts

  1. Handling all accounting and financial record for the head office and assigned projects.
  2. Book-keeping and safe keeping of financial records and files.
  3. Processing the payments in a timely manner in compliance with the requirements of Sungi Policies and Donor guidelines
  4. Ensure the completeness and accuracy of vouchers and supporting documents
  5. Timely recording of transaction in the system
  6. Posting bank, Cash, Journal vouchers in the books of Accounts and software.
  7. Ensure deduction of income tax and sales tax from all payments where applicable as per requirement of the relevant laws and deposit the same with prescribed time
  8. E-filing of tax statements.
  9. Making payments through Cheques and Cash as per the Sungi Policies
  10. Preparation of Bank Reconciliation statements, Audit Schedule and reconciling subsequent position showing in trial balance and Financial reports.
  11. Maintaining organizational and project budgets and corresponding expenditure records
  12. Preparing Budget vs Actual reports for the projects and share with relevant project managers.
  13. Extend support during the internal and external audits of the organization and projects
  14. Preparing and maintaining Bank book and cash book on daily and monthly basis.
  15. Maintaining an updated record of staff advances

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Commerce or Business Administration/ CA Inter and Articles completed
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience of using Quick Books Accounting Software & good hands-on experience in Microsoft Excel
  • Hands-on knowledge of income and sales tax laws
